Kevin J. Crosby

Technical Director

Mr. Crosby is a specialist in emission measurements and is Technical Director for The Avogadro Group.  He holds a B.S. in Meteorology from San Jose State University, and has been directly involved with source testing since 1976.  Before working at Avogadro, he was Manager of emission measurement for the Northern California Division of Carnot Technical Services, Inc., and held a similar position in Southern California for Kleinfelder, Inc.  He previously spent 5 years as Technical Director for Ecoserve, Inc. and 8 years as a project manager and technician for Chemecology Corporation.

Kevin has tested nearly every type of emission source using most of the test methods from EPA, CARB, SCAQMD, BAAQMD, etc.  He specializes in measurement of low concentrations of particulate and gaseous emissions, air toxic contaminant measurements, SCR balancing and tuning, and turbine “start-ups.”  Kevin has extensive experience measuring emissions from many types of power plants, including all sizes and types of gas turbines, large utility boilers and internal combustion engines.  He also has experience with ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring, modeling, permitting, and emission control system engineering.

He enjoys working at Avogadro because of the variety of clients and projects and problems to be solved, and because of the professional, friendly environment.  Kevin says that after all these years, he still learns something new almost every day.  He enjoys the technical, physical and mechanical challenges, plus the relationships with clients, regulators and colleagues.

Outside of work he’s an outdoors guy – skiing, mountain biking, hiking, sailing, etc.
