Michele F. Hoffmann
Laboratory Manager
Ms. Hoffmann is the Laboratory Manager for The Avogadro Group, LLC. Michele has been involved with air quality testing since 2000 (specifically with stack emissions since 2006). She holds a M. S. degree in Chemistry from University of California, Riverside and a B. S. degree from the University of Hawaii – Manoa. Michele has a broad range of experience with various instrumentation including mass spectrometry, chromatography, optical spectroscopy, elemental analysis, particle measurements, and metereological measurements. Currently, she is the first and only FTIR operator to be certified by the California Air Resources Board. Her FTIR experience includes testing on natural gas fired boilers and turbines, diesel fired boilers and engines, biomass boilers, ethanol production, fiberglass manufacturing, chemical plants, wood products, and greenhouse gas analysis. Her goal is to expand our in-house analytical capabilities and provide high quality laboratory results.
Prior to joining The Avogadro Group, LLC, Michele performed research on the chemical speciation of individual atmospheric ultrafine and fine particulate matter using a single particle mass spectrometry at UC San Diego and UC Riverside. She has been on several large field campaigns throughout the Eastern United States funded by the US EPA. She has authored and co-authored several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
