The EPA is taking direct final action to approve revisions to the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District (AVAQMD), Eastern Kern Air Pollution Control District (EKAPCD), and Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District (SBCAPCD) portions of the California State Implementation Plan (SIP). Under authority of the Clean Air Act as amended in 1990 (CAA or the Act), the EPA is approving local rules that define terms used in other air pollution regulation in these areas and approving a rule rescission that addresses Petroleum Coke Calcining Operations—Oxides of Sulfur.
DATES: This rule is effective on July 3, 2012 without further notice, unless EPA receives adverse comments by June 4, 2012. If the EPA receives such comments, we will publish a timely withdrawal in the Federal Register to notify the public that this direct final rule will not take effect.
